Volunteen Program
Think you would like to spend some of your summer helping others? As a Volunteen, you’ll have a truly rewarding experience on your summer break to learn about the organization of Owensboro Health, as well as gain valuable understanding of different opportunities that Owensboro Health has to offer.
The work will be widely varied and will expose you both to clinical and non-clinical areas of Owensboro Health. The program runs from June through the end of July each year, and work schedules are flexible. All teen volunteers receive supervision from Owensboro Health employed team members.
Now Accepting Applications
We are excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for the Summer Teen Volunteer Program. The Volunteen Program offers teens an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand experience in various hospital careers while providing valuable service to the hospital and its patients. The Volunteer Services Team will supervise participants and must attend a mandatory one-day orientation.
To qualify as a Volunteen at Owensboro Health, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be between the ages of 14 and 17 for the duration of the Volunteen Program (June 10 – August 1, 2025).
- Be able to volunteer for at least 4 hours each week and have reliable transportation.
Before starting, teens must have a parent or guardian sign a permission form and agree to receive a TB skin test administered by our Employee Health nurses.
Applications must be completed and submitted online by Friday, May 16, 2025. Once the applications have been reviewed, selected teens will receive written notice by mail with details about the orientation schedule.
