Volunteer Opportunities
Art Cart: Take the cart around the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital patient rooms to deliver art cart supplies through our Arts in Healing Program.
Breckenridge Medical Building: Welcome patients/visitors who enter the medical office building, provide directions, help escort and assist individuals needing wheelchair transportation. See location details.
Connections Desk: Assist with Connections members coming in to sign up for events and register for trips.
Gift Shop: Provide a welcoming environment for customers in the OHRH gift shop, use the cash register and restock merchandise.
Infusion Center: Provide support to patients by socializing and offering refreshments, run errands and assist staff with various supportive duties. See location details.
Mailroom Runner: Provide mail delivery to selected departments throughout various facilities in Owensboro, Monday through Friday.
Main Information Desk: Assist patients/visitors at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital Information Desk. Hour of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Provide patient room information, directions for visitors and assist anyone who comes to the desk for information.
Mother Baby Waiting Area: Give patient room information, directions for visitors and assist others as needed.
Outpatient Surgery Runner: Provide wayfinding support to patients and their family members during surgical procedures by escorting families back to prep rooms and other commonly visited locations such as the gift shop or cafeteria. Assist staff with various supportive duties.
Pet Therapy: Provide a positive human-animal interaction and bring emotional support at a vulnerable time. Visit specified nursing units, lobbies, waiting areas, etc.
Pastoral Care: Provides supportive visits to patients, families and team members in partnership with a chaplain. May also visit with new inpatients to learn their religious affiliation so a pastoral café staffer can coordinate spiritual care with their faith communities.
- Eucharistic Minister: If you are in good standing with your Catholic Parrish, and already a eucharistic minister, become part of the team which ensures Holy Communion which is offered daily to patients.
Volunteer Office: Staff the volunteer office and work with the department staff to assist with routine office tasks. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
