For Sedra, getting up and going to work every day is a blessing. That's because medicine, to her, is challenging, interesting and rewarding. The best part, she says, is developing relationships with her patients and watching them get healthier over time.
That Sedra was drawn to medicine is not surprising. Her mom is a nurse, and her dad is a family physician, so she learned firsthand the value of caring for people. By the time she was a sophomore in high school, Sedra knew she wanted to practice medicine as a career.
Today, the Illinois native is glad to call Owensboro home. She says Owensboro is "the perfect size" for her and her husband, with lots of entertainment, shopping and good food. In her spare time, Sedra enjoys baking and has recently picked up sewing as a hobby as well.

At Owensboro Health Primary Care, Sedra treats patients for conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and arthritis. She can see patients as young as 18, and the practice accepts all kinds of insurance. Many of Sedra's patients have minimal insurance coverage, or none at all.
